An exceptional natural environment

Lying on the shores of Lake Bourget - the biggest natural lake in France - and at the foot of the 1550-metre high Mont Revard, Aix-les-Bains can justifiably claim to be one of the most beautifully situated cities in France. The city, with its numerous parks, gardens, floral displays and fountains, provides a harmonious counterpoint to this exceptional natural environment. It is little wonder, therefore, that this modestly sized city of 30,000 inhabitants has been awarded the Grand Prix in both the France in Bloom and Europe in Bloom (Entente Floral) competitions.

An illustrious past

The oldest visible reminders of Aix-les-Bains’ long history are its prestigious Roman remains, such as the Roman baths, the Arch of Campanus and the Temple of Diana.
Built during La Belle Epoque and still an important part of the city’s landscape, Aix-les Bains’ luxury hotels include the Bernascon, the Excelsior, the Mirabeau, the International, the Grand, which boasts an atrium designed by Pellegrini, and the Splendide, whose marvellous salons are decorated with frescoes and lapis-lazuli columns. The city’s other architectural splendours include the Casino, with its mosaics and French-style theatre.

A spa destination of excellence

Aix les Bains Riviera des Alpes is a spa destination of excellence, developed around its hot springs, where everyone can reconnect with nature and reach a high level of relaxation. A unique formula that has firmly brought the city to the rank of reference resorts.
